Well, the big prom weekend has finally come...and gone. The boys went in to Gifts Sew Sweet a few weeks ago and picked out, ordered and paid for their own tuxedos for prom. When they put them on yesterday afternoon, it was a total surprise to me to see how handsome they looked! For those of you who don't see Micah all that often or perhaps just didn't notice, he actually shaved off his beard for the occasion! He did leave his moustache however. Who knows, maybe I can get that moustache off for graduation!
Anyway, it's hard to believe my boys are BOTH prom-goers now! We all went to Duncan for Saturday night mass so that the boys could sleep in on Sunday morning. After mass, the boys went to the Hillside for supper. When I asked them this morning what they had, guess what they said? Chicken strips! Of all things they could have had...kids will be kids! Micah went to the after prom party this year. They had "Cosmic bowling" and he got home about 4:30 this morning. He slept until about 11. He won a suitcase (now we'll just have to go back to Rome!) and a few gift certificates. Reed came home after the dance as this staying awake all night is not his bag. He got home at about 12:30 so that is pretty late for him to be up!
In looking at these pictures, I am trying to figure out how I gave birth to two boys who grew up to be about a foot taller than myself. Must be some mutant gene!

Today was quite a big day for several children in our parish. It was the day of their First Communion. We also celebrated May Crowning and had two of the members of the senior class present to crown the Blessed Virgin Mary. Fr. Dellaert did a very nice job at this mass and it was all so sweet I'm sure Fr. Huber would have diabetes after this mass. (That's a joke Fr. Huber, Sheryl Chizek and I would understand -- however her children took him literally and are now very concerned about his "diabetes"!) Had to get a pic with Amanda in her First Communion finery. We are quite the trio in this picture -- Amanda, myself and the Blessed Mother. (All of you smart alecs out there had better not be singing the Sesame Street song, "One of These Things Is Not Like The Other"!)
Better make some chow for Micah as he is finally out of bed and hasn't eaten yet today. Then Mike and I are off to Amanda's for celebratory cake and ice cream and the boys will be off to Fr. Dellaert's for the annual "Kick the Seniors to the Curb" picnic.
